Social networks such as Facebook and MySpace have established a very prominent presence in the communication of today. An issue that can be raised is whether or not this new communication phenomena is beneficial or detrimental to social interaction. Through this project, we have broken down the barriers between electronic and analog communication by imposing the rules of Facebook on real life. --------------------------------------------- Our hypothesis was that behaving as if one were on Facebook in live settings will be seen as socially awkward, surreal, or bizarre to onlookers, particularly because such actions break the social frame of both live and digital interaction. --------------------------------------------- It was concluded after the experiment this was indeed the case--people do not like their personal space to be interfered with in real life.
